Due to the type of extensive lab work we prefer to get a clear indication of what we are looking for, we rely on third party lab facilities to obtain all our lab work. We’ll work with you to schedule and find a lab that works with your insurance if that’s what you prefer. All Results will be sent to our facility and reviewed with you.

Unfortunately Ravenscroft Developmental Pediatrics doesn’t have access to any facilities medical records. It’s important that you sign a release of record form in order for us to obtain a copy of your child’s past medical records. Visit our form page to download the release of record form. You can also upload your child’s records directly to the patient portal which would not require you to fill out an ROI.

I want to learn as much as possible about your child and your goals and expectations for your child’s mental, emotional, academic and social life. Some children have extensive medical and/or social histories that we need time to explore. This is where filling out the new patient intake form can really help save time and let me get to the assessment and planning part of our visit. If I think there is a need for more extensive testing, I will discuss this with you. Visits are designed with the expectation that not every child will need additional testing. If your child has had psycho-educational testing (Full Individual Evaluation), neuropsych testing, or other assessments, please either upload those to the portal or bring them to the visit so we don’t need to repeat previous testing.
-
Yes, but the diagnosis might be less accurate so I recommend re-evaluation by 3 years of age if needed.

This is a perfect time to ask, now what? Many children with autism or other developmental diagnoses are not thriving in current therapies or school placements and parents want to know if there is anything else that can be done. Are there additional diagnoses to consider (anxiety, ADHD, etc). Sometimes you just need a “Quarterback for the team” to look over all of the support that your child is receiving and to make sure nothing is being left out, in which case we might meet annually. For kids less than 5 years of age, I recommend ongoing developmental testing to broadly evaluate language, fine motor and problem solving skills. This can direct therapies and ensure that we are not missing any vital part of your child’s development.
Does your child experience times of severe behavioral dysregulation? Have limited diet preferences? Seem to react strongly to certain foods, environments or seasons? Do you have concerns about environmental or food toxins? These are all questions that we can address as an essential next step.
-
YES! This is why we provide comprehensive developmental testing up to 66 months of age (sometimes longer depending on your child’s developmental level). Parents have reported that this comprehensive evaluation helps them to understand how all of the therapies are working together and gives an overall picture of their child’s development. By broadly evaluating language, fine motor and problem solving skills we can make targeted recommendations and ensure that your child is receiving the best possible intervention in a timely manner.
